hybrid car benefit

Toyota Hybrid Car

The Toyota Prius was probably the first hybrid car to hit the worldwide market.  This Toyota hybrid car was already out in the Japanese market in 1997 and was a hit.  With the demand for more hybrid cars later on, Toyota released it to the world in 2001.  It was quite large for a hybrid and was later on re-designed to as a hatchback and therefore well suited for city streets.  Toyota has always been known to push automobile technologies to further limits and they continue their hybrid line in a few of their bestselling models.

Toyota Prius

This Toyota hybrid car was an almost instant hit in the US when it hit the US in 2001.  The upgraded Prius in 2004 caused an even bigger stir, what with all the discussion about having to make the change to greener energy.  The Prius 2007 comes with a 500 volt electric motor / 1.5 liter gasoline engine.  This allows for 76 horsepower at 5000 rpm which is competitive if not even better than most conventional cars that use pure fuel to run.  Currently, the Totyota Prius 2007 is the bestselling hybrid in the United States, so much so that 2009 Toyota hybrid car is already in production.  The 2009 Next Generation Prius is expected to be released in 2008.

Toyota Camry Hybrid

The Toyota Camry was a mid-sized sedan, popular all over the world and seen as executive cars meant for those who could afford luxury but not exclusive only to the rich.  The United States was the largest Camry consumer for 9 out of 10 years and this was even way before a hybrid version of the vehicle was introduced to the market.  The Camry was so successful that it was recorded to be one of the cars that had the most impact on the American market; one can only imagine what the hybrid has to offer now that the Camry takes on the form of a new technology that is both earth saving and fuel-efficient.  The Camry hybrid 2007 has also been garnering its own awards, however, being voted the best family car for the year 2007.  Introduced in 2006, the Toyota hybrid car is not going to replace its fuel-dependent counterpart just yet.  With a 4 cylinder gasoline engine and a 650V electric motor, nobody would ever suspect that this vehicle can produce 192 horsepower and yet do 40 miles to the gallon!  Some of its better features include an all electric heating and air conditioning system, power brakes, and power steering; this means that the car runs on the electric motors only.

Toyota eCom

Produced in 1998, this Toyota hybrid car is a small car that was initially meant for carpooling.  It utilizes a special electronic card instead of conventional keys.  The eCom was seen in many car shows and fifty of these were made for rental in Toyota City in Japan.  Fondly thought as a precursor to the Prius, this Toyota hybrid car was utilized to show the effectiveness of using electric cars and is not something that is readily available for purchase by the public.
